"AMER CLASSIC II 1911 45ACP 5"
AVAILABLE - American Classic 1911 Hard Chrome I've had a lot of people looking for a Nickel 1911. They don't seem to be coming in any time soon, but here is a nice Hard Chrome from Metro Arms. Might be your only choice in the near future if you like the shiny silver 1911. Metro is another of the Philippine based manufacturers, made in Manilla and imported by Eagle Imports. Most of the reviews have put it at a very good value in the low priced 1911 market. As with most (including the Rock Islands and others), they really shoot in after about 50-100 rounds and become super nice firearms.

AVAILABLE - Colt 1911 Pistol 45ACP The direct descendant of the 1911. This is a Series 80 gun, but walks a fine line between the original and the space guns. Has the traditional look of a GI, but has a slight beavertail and a slightly lowered ejection port. At first glance it looks just like the classic, but runs like a new gun.

New updates to Texas Firearms Laws effective Sept 1st
As pointed out by +Eligio Marin, there are some new updates going in to effect as of Sunday Sept 1st for us here in Texas. Don't worry, for the most part they are GOOD changes. Basically, it addresses storing a firearm in your private vehicle on a public university, unintentional display of a concealed firearm, CHL education requirements and CHL renewal procedures. New Executive Orders are certainly a bad move, but really nothing has changed No doubt people have heard about the recently signed Executive Orders on importing firearms. Before anyone jumps the gun and starts thinking they are going to corner the market on Mosin Nagents or something, realize that this applies to a very small number of rifles that were already unable to be imported. These orders effect rifles that were manufactured in the US and exported to other countries. It makes it illegal to re-import them. It has nothing to do with rifles made outside the country. What this is about is a bunch of M-1 Garand and Carbines sitting in Korea. They were exported to the Korean Government, and have been sitting in warehouses. The Koreans want to sell these to collectors and the CMP. But federal law says the State Department must give permission for the re-importing of firearms that have been exported to a foreign government, and they have withheld this permission for some time now. So all this EO does is make it official permanently, instead of still possible pending State Dept approval. Yes, we should all hate them for doing this. But honestly, it hasn't changed a thing. They are just screwing us a different way now.

"Miss. high court upholds open-carry gun law"
Open Carry legal again in the Magnolia State The Mississippi Supreme Court unanimously overturned a lower court ruling blocking House Bill 2, which clarified open carry laws. Circuit Judge Winston Kidd put the measure on hold after a suit by the Hinds County district attorney, saying the law was vague and unconstitutional. The Supreme Court vacated that ruling. The Bill was scheduled to become law on July 1st.

A new Facebook post via South Texas Armory Show your support for Starbucks this Saturday, and foil 'Mommies Whine about Guns' boycott Evidently, Moms Demand Action is calling for a boycott of Starbucks stores this Saturday in an attempt to force them in to changing their position on guns in their stores.
Let's get out there and show Starbucks what we can do, and make their revenues actually go UP in spite of this silly ploy. I'm not calling for open carry, or even concealed carry. Just stop in your local Starbucks and plunk down a couple bucks for a coffee to show them that they have nothing to fear from these whiney Moms.

If anything, they are slightly against because they have a no guns policy in their corporate offices. But on the other hand, they let local governments make the proper choices for their citizens. We need to at least support them for that.

And they are "Gun Safety" advocates? This picture is from the press conference where Mike Bloomberg et al announced the largest seizure of weapons in the city's history. But, in direct violation of at least 2 Rules of Gun Safety (Treat all guns as if they are loaded, and Never point a gun at anything you are not willing to kill or destroy), every one of those on display is pointed directly at the crowd. HORRIBLE storage safety idea for your self defense guns
This "safety" product loads in your firearm's chamber while in storage. If you pull the trigger while it is in there, a primer expands a plastic slug partially in to the barrel, causing the device to jam in the chamber and not be able to be removed without a 'special' tool (a rod that pushed the plastic back in). To disarm the device, you simply rack the slide/cycle the bolt/rotate the cylinder to get the device out of the path of the firing pin.
Why is it a BAD idea? Because in the heat of the moment, when you REALLY NEED a gun, are you going to remember? Chances are you are going to pull the trigger, which now causes an unclearable malfunction and turned your self defense tool in to a club. You have lost your biggest weapon against the assailant, plus pissed him off by trying to shoot him with a gun that didn't work. Good luck surviving THAT encounter.
And their 'special' tool to reset the device could be replaced by a pencil or any other thin object, which any teenager will figure out in about 2 minutes if they want to play with your guns while you are gone.
Another stupid "safety" device that makes life more dangerous for those who might actually want to use a gun for self defense of the home.
Use the most important safety of all, that lump of gray stuff between your ears. Don't be fooled in to thinking that any mechanical device is going to make your home safe if you are stupid about the way you store your guns.
